Introduction Electric vehicles are now within our reach as electric car companies around the globe are making their own EV to wow the world. The need for electric vehicles in the present state of our environment is very important. Climate change, the greenhouse effect and other environmental issues are need to be address and choosing your next car responsibly is the first step. We seriously need a change and change is coming in the shape of the new Venturi Electric Vehicles. Other people may have other misconceptions about electric cars as expensive. But come to think of it, how much are going to spend for gas if you are going to buy a conventional vehicle? I bet you will be paying too much that going green would be the best option. It was the year 1984 when the first Venturi car was created through the efforts of Claude Poiraud and Gérard Godfroy – the company’s founder. The company’s progress and mastery on its field is what set Venturi apart from any other companies. They manage to establish Venturi in the international GT races by defeating high-end car makers such as Ferrari and Posche not just once but on several occasions. Now, the company’s new home is in Venturi has a wide range of electric cars that goes way back from 1987 until now. The company goes with the name MVS, but as soon as Xaxier de la Chapelle stepped in he decided to change the name to Venturi. After studying 80 drafts of proposals for the company’s logo, he opted for the design of the gerfalcon - the world’s fastest animal that has a speed of 280 km/hr in a vertical dive. Set on a globe, the gerfalcon symbolizes the company’s mastery in its craft. The logo also shows the color red, blue and white to remind the company on its French origin, and topped it with the sun to represent the region of the Venturi Eclectic Concept Making the Venturi Eclectric is the company’s new approach to address sky rocketing fuel prices, pollution, irreversible climate and the whittling down of our resources. The stake is high that we are in the period to take matters into our hands. So the company gave birth to its new concept electric car and launched it at the Paris Motor Show in 2006. Known as the "autonomous energy vehicle”, the Venturi Eclectic doesn’t need biodiesel or fuel cell batteries to power it up. The new Venturi technology is all about solar energy. Now, you can say goodbye to fuel charges and say hello to a lot of savings. The Eclectic got its power to its 8.2 square feet solar cells strategically placed atop of its roof. It can accommodate four passengers and the ride boasts a 22-horsepower purely electric engine. Powered by liquid-cooled NiMH batteries, the Eclectic has a top speed of nearly 32mph that can roll around 31 miles on a full charge. Powered by either sun, wind or an AC outlet, the Eclectic is a well crafted vehicle that has an option to recharge via AC power. With just 772 pounds, the car is one of the lightest electric vehicles in the market today. Though it may look like a golf cart, the Eclectic is one of the coolest electric vehicles today. Venturi Fetish The company’s electric sports car is the all new Venturi Fetish. Launched in the 2004 Paris Motor Show, the Fetish is a two-seater sports car produced in Thanks to its ultra-modern technology, the EV’s acceleration is the same with normal internal combustion engine sports car. It comes with a respectable 160 km/h (100 mph) speed that produces 250 horsepower (180kW) that can accelerate from 0 to 100Km/h in less than 5 seconds. The Fetish is sporting an electric traction motor. A feature that is unique for the Venturi Fetish. Its full 220 N·m (162 lb·ft) torque is available at all motor speeds and it features a range of 250 km (combined use). The car’s battery are all lithium-ion accumulators that can be charged in 1 hour and offering 3 hours with a standard grid through its onboard charger. Venturi Volage The Venturi Volage is a product of collaboration between Venturi and Michelin. Unveiled t at the “Mondial 2008” or better known as Paris Motor Show, the Volage marks the company’s major step forward for electric vehicle supremacy. Powered by innovation and Michelin’s Active Wheel, the car features an advance system of in-wheel electric motors. What is so unique about it is the car’s 45 kWh lithium batteries that are capable of taking it as far as 199 miles (320 km) at a speed of 56 mph (90km/h) all in one single charge. The vehicle’s top speed is 93 mph and it is set to begin production in 2012. Carrying a positive message for the future, the Volage is sporting high-performance features and driving pleasure that made it the most sought-after sports car in the market today. Fashioned by the wind, the Volage is using the science of aerodynamics as the designer’s inspiration to have its elaborate shape. Totally original, this electric sports vehicle will surely captivate the consumers need for elegance, comfort, and performance. Just by looking at it, you can tell the car’s close relationship to other Venturi models. The car’s carbon fiber body is the same as the one in Fetish which is hand-assembled in limited quantities. Designed by Sacha Lakic, the Volage is said to be "designed by subtraction" with its smooth bottom and carbon fiber skin. Each wheels of the Volage holds two electric motors, thanks to Michelin’s Active Wheel System. The electric vehicle can readily adapt to various road surfaces and different driving style because all of which are controlled by its "spearhead electronics”. And speaking of the car’s batteries, the Volage is equipped with 45 kWh worth of liquid-cooled polymer lithium batteries that can provide for 320 Km (199 miles) of driving pleasure. It is also capable to travel 60 mph in less than 5 seconds. The Volage can tops out at of 150 Km (93 Mph) thanks to its modern modification and the car’s dynamic behavior. The company will begin the Volage limited production in 2012 as they want to position the brand as the most advanced company for electric vehicles. |
