Phoenix partnered with Altair Nanotechnologies, Inc. and Electrovaya Inc. to develop key vehicle components such as battery packs, drive train components and vehicle bodies. By the beginning of 2008, Phoenix announced two major investors to finance their new project and the appointment of new management team.

Now, Phoenix Motorcars are in full speed to advance their study and manufacture freeway-speed, zero-emission all-electric vehicles to compete with other manufacturers EV. The company has already established its mark in the automotive industry as they mass produce a fully functional sport utility vehicles and green electric truck. These green cars are made for commercial fleet and consumer use. Phoenix SUT

Taking the sports utility truck to the next level, Phoenix Motorcars are introducing the all-new face of SUT. Based on the SsangYong Actyon Sports, the Phoenix SUT is a four-passenger vehicle that features an advanced battery electric motor that can travel at freeway speed. Quite impressive, isn’t it? This vehicle is not your ordinary SUT for it features a 35kWh NanoSafe battery pack (lithium-titanate battery) that can range of over 100 miles (160 km). Its ability to recharge is quite as fast as 10 minutes for a 100 mile drive. Armed with sophisticated chassis and regenerative braking, the Phoenix SUT is the coolest truck in the highway today.

With its fine clean line and stylish exterior look, it won’t be a surprise if this SUT would soon become the hottest car in the automotive industry. Created with precision the electric SUT was inspired by a Korean Automaker Ssangyong. Though it is the fourth largest manufacturer in Korea, the company is completely unknown in the US market. So this in fact a good introduction of the company as they help engineered this new SUT. Designed from the ground up, the Phoenix electric SUT is styling 100 kW PowerPhase 100 electric traction motor and controller thanks to the company’s developer UQM Technologies. The car’s power came from its 900 pounds of Altair NanoSafe lithium titanate batteries with a powertrain that produces over 400 ft-lbs of torque. When electrified, the SUT can accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 10 seconds. It can also speed up to 95 mph with a claimed driving range of 100 miles with an onboard 220-volt outlet the SUT can charge in about six hours.

Fast charging technology is definitely out there and the new SUT is taking advantage by this technology. Electric SUT is now going mainstream as charging utilities are growing in numbers. Using a high-power commercial rapid charger, the vehicle can charge as fast as 10 minutes although this type of charging I quite expensive. So make sure that before going somewhere your car is in full charge.

Made for convenience, the SUV is designed for comfortable driving that features all the amenities needed for a vehicle. It includes climate, glove box, center console and cup holder, sunglasses case, a state of the art driver seat, heated front seats and a tilting headrest. With all these features it would be hard not getting use of its first class treatment.

Its top-notch multi-sensor features infrared rain sensor, vertical and horizontal automatic light sensor all these are combined to create space and better functionality. Other security features includes rain-sensing windshield wipers, two-way automatic headlamps, electrochromic mirror, backup warning system, powered side-view mirrors and wiper deicer. Passive safety features are also available such as the dual airbags for driver and front passenger, door impact bar, height adjustable seat belts and side curtain airbags.
